An electricity bill is not enough to size a solar PV system precisely, whether industrial or residential. At Ziterion, our engineering team analyses at least one year of hourly consumption and, in high energy demand industries, also at 15 minute intervals.

From this data, we build a detailed consumption profile that lets us calculate the right generation capacity (number of solar panels) and battery storage size, ensuring a system fully adapted to the real needs of each business or home.

The consumption profile we build first shows how much energy your business or home uses, and how and when it needs it. With that information, our engineers size the solar PV system, the battery storage capacity, and select the equipment and technologies that best fit your case. Using professional PV simulation tools built on mapping and satellite imagery, we analyse the roof of your industrial site or your home: pitch, solar irradiation, shading and wind exposure. This lets us specify the panel technology for maximum yield, the right structures and fixings, and the power and control electronics that optimise the performance of the whole system. All of this is delivered in a technical study covering profitability, costs and project viability.

Once the project is defined, we go on site. We carry out one or more technical site visits to gather key information. We assess the roof structure to ensure it can carry the additional load of the solar PV installation, confirm equipment locations and plan cable routes. We also inspect electrical switchboards and protections and, if required, define the location of a second earth connection independent from the main electrical installation.

With the project defined and site visits completed, execution begins. Our installers follow the installation plan designed by our engineering team, step by step. Throughout the process, the installation crew stays in constant contact with the engineers to ensure every stage is delivered with maximum precision and efficiency. We also install lifelines and all required protections to keep the team safe at all times while working on the roof. Once installation is complete, our engineers take over and carry out commissioning, leaving the system operational and correctly configured.

With the system installed and operational, it is time to understand how everything works. We provide comprehensive training so you can manage your system with clear judgement and confidence. We explain operating modes and how to use the monitoring app to see real time production, self consumption, battery state of charge and the key data that helps optimise performance. Every solar PV installation must go through a compliance and permitting process. At Ziterion, we handle the full procedure, from the engineered design and professional sign off to obtaining the required permits and certificates. We manage building permits and prior notifications, the electrical installation certificate (CIE), registration in the Regional Self Consumption Register and, where applicable, operating authorisation, grid access and connection, surplus compensation and the Electricity Production Register. When required, we also coordinate inspection and certification by the Authorised Control Body (OCA). All to ensure full compliance without you having to worry about a thing.

When your project qualifies for grants or tax relief, we handle the application process. Approval and payment remain the responsibility of the granting bodies, so Ziterion cannot be held responsible for the outcome.

Once the export surplus compensation agreement is in place, we fine tune your tariff. We analyse your consumption profile and recommend the most competitive tariff, best suited to your needs. The goal: maximise savings and help you get the most from your solar PV system.
